For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
What does the bible say about forgiving?
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Yes, we all have sinned! This is a characteristic of all man kind. Therefore we must teach our children to apologize and forgive!
This is a simple outline
#1 – Model! – (just as in prayer ) Model how to apologize
If you have never apologized to your child, your child will not understand what an apology is. Start young!
#2 - Start young!
Not just apologize to your child young, but have your child apologize to others young. If your child is not verbal yet, you can teach apologizes, with hugs!
#3 – Teach the words “excess me”
These words are powerful. Have your children say “excess me” for impolite actions. Before you know it your child will say them without reminders.
#4 – Teach about forgiveness.
Forgiveness comes after the apology.
#5 – Teach heart-felt apologies
We do not want to raise parrots! We do not want our children to say these words just because they do not want to get in trouble. If you teach with Love and the Love of our Lord, children will apologize and forgive from the heart.
