Incorporate Scripture In Your Home

Housewarming Corner ~ Building Gods Home

(New Series)
Week 1:

Incorporate Scripture throughout Your Home in 2013

Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.” 2 Samuel 7:29 ESV

How are we supposed to build God’s Home?  What is needed for Christ to be at the center of our home?  Sometimes we get busy “growing and working ” that we have been busy building up  our lives, our careers and families that we have forgotten about putting God as the center of our home.  This personally is one of my main goals, to put God at the center!

During the New Year I hope we can share with each other ways that we are Building Gods Home.   We can start small with small effort, small amounts of time, devotion and money.  God will not see the amount of what we have done but God will see our hearts.  He will see all the labors of love for him.

Creating a warm home will be sharing the gift of light.  John 8:12 ESV

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Let Jesus shine in your home.  One way to let Jesus shine in your home is to display bible verses.  As the old saying goes, “Out of sight, out of mind.”  So what we put in our site will be in our minds.

What is important to me is to share bible verses with our children.  There are many ways to display bible verses.  The bible verse conversation starter in my home is the bible verse rocks I purchased and put in a simple crystal bowl in my guest bathroom.  Every guest who washes their hands sees these verses.   I hope these verses help not only plant the seeds of faith in my boys but all that enter our home.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:             1 Peter 4:10 ESV

I pray that my home has Christ in the center.  I pray that my house is a home and is used to serve my family and all who enter.

Just remember God will see your heart!

You are blessed,

Nikki
